Carbon steel bar refer to those steel bars with carbon as the main alloying element. Their performance not only maintains the strength of iron, but also has the toughness of carbon. By adjusting the carbon content, the mechanical properties of carbon steel can be further changed to meet different usage requirements.

According to chemical composition and use, it can be divided into multiple categories. Common carbon steel bars include low carbon steel, medium carbon steel, high carbon steel and alloy steel. Different types of carbon steel bars have different properties and uses.

Low carbon steel bars: Low carbon steel bars have a low carbon content, generally between 0.05% and 0.30%. Their strength is relatively low, but their plasticity, toughness and welding properties are quite good. This kind of steel is easy to stamp and is often made into various plates and stamping parts. It can also be used to make carburized parts. For example, it is often used to make plates to make various stamping parts and containers. In addition, this type of steel is also often used to make carburized parts. After carburizing and quenching, its surface hardness is high and wear resistance is good, while the core maintains a certain strength and toughness. This makes it very suitable for manufacturing parts that are subjected to impact loads and wear-resistant parts, such as gears, short shafts and pins. Therefore, this type of steel is also called case-hardened steel or carburizing steel.

Medium carbon steel bar: The carbon content of medium carbon steel bar is relatively high, generally between 0.30% - 0.60%. This type of steel has significant strength, but slightly insufficient plasticity and toughness. However, after heat treatment and tempering, its strength and toughness are significantly improved, making it suitable for manufacturing various types of shafts, rods and other parts.

High carbon steel bar: The carbon content of high carbon steel bar is above 0.60%. This type of steel has high hardness and strength, but relatively poor plasticity and toughness. After quenching and medium-temperature tempering, its hardness and strength are maintained, and good elasticity is obtained, which is suitable for manufacturing springs.
